It's interesting how things turn out in a synchronous way. I just talked with the friend who I had protected, and she just told me she had been thinking that she doesn't need it any more, and possibly never even needed it in the way I thought anyway...

So, I got her explicit permission to link to her in a story. And I feel liberated.
